One thing I know about teachers is we are...

✅ Tired of being micromanaged
✅ Put in too many hours each week
✅ Want freedom of our time (you know like pee when we want, go to the doctor without taking a day off)
✅ Work hard and deserve more money

A few years ago, I was feeling limited by my income as a teacher, but still wanted to pursue my passions outside of the classroom.Enter teacher side hustles-- the answer you've been looking for.

So it's important to identify your skills and passions. As a teacher, you have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in a particular subject or skill, so why not leverage that into a side hustle? Whether it's tutoring, teaching online courses, or offering consulting services, there are endless possibilities to explore.

Once you've identified your strengths, think about who your target audience is. Are you looking to work with students, professionals, or hobbyists? Knowing your audience is key to building a successful side hustle that meets their needs.

As with any business venture, creating a plan is essential. Decide what services you'll offer, how you'll market yourself, and what your pricing will be. Set goals and establish a timeline for achieving them.

As a teacher, you already have a built-in network of colleagues, parents, and students. Leverage this network to get the word out about your side hustle. Use social media, email newsletters, and word-of-mouth referrals to spread the word and attract new clients.

My favorite social media platforms to utilize for my business have been TikTok and Instagram. I'm slowly adding Pinterest into my marketing strategy and continuing to build my email list.

In today's digital age, there are many online platforms that make it easy to start a side hustle. Consider using websites like Udemy, Skillshare, or Teachable to create online courses and reach a wider audience of teachers.

You can teach on any topic that you're passionate about-- how to keep the joy in teaching, balancing life inside and outside of the classroom, how to build meaningful relationships with students. The list is truly endless.

Staying organized is essential to managing your workload and finances. As a teacher, you're already skilled at planning and organizing, so apply those skills to your side hustle. Keep track of your products, clients, invoices, and expenses to stay on top of your finances.

As you start your teacher side hustle, be open to learning and improving. Attend conferences, read books, take courses to develop your skills, find a like-minded community of fellow teacher entrepreneurs, and stay up-to-date with the latest teaching trends. Continuous learning will help you stay relevant and attract new customers and clients.

Starting a teacher side hustle can be a fantastic way to earn extra income, explore your passions, and develop new skills. By following these tips and being open to new opportunities, you'll be well on your way to building a successful side hustle that complements your teaching career and empowers you outside of the classroom.

There's no better time than now to start building your brand and taking the leap.

Choose yourself this time teacher friend because as educators, we always are there for everybody else.

Cheers,
Ty Tiger
